You can now use our Custom GPT to analyse your MX8 survey data directly inside ChatGPT.
This feature is currently in BETA, and we’re actively learning how well the LLM handles different types of data and questions. That said, it’s fully usable today and can be part of your analysis workflows — especially for charting, summarising, and getting quick insights.
What the GPT Can Do
The custom GPT connects to your MX8 account (via the read-only API) and lets you:
Ask natural-language questions about your surveys and reports
Automatically retrieve cross-tabulated data
Generate charts and visual summaries from crosstabs
Get help writing summaries, headlines, or key findings from the data
This can save you time, reduce copy-paste between tools, and help you explore your results conversationally.
What the GPT Doesn’t Do
To be clear: all cross-tabulation is still done in the MX8 platform. That means:
Weighting is applied exactly as defined in the survey
Statistical testing is calculated correctly
Significance flags are retained and accurate
You get the same numbers you’d see in the core reporting UI
The GPT doesn’t manipulate the raw data — it just fetches and helps you interpret what’s already been calculated properly by MX8.
Example Use Cases
Create charts from cross-tab results (e.g. bar, line, stacked comparisons)
Summarise a report in plain English for stakeholders
Generate headlines for top findings
Compare audience segments (e.g. “How do 18–24s compare to 35–44s on brand trust?”)
Identify patterns or outliers
Export simple analysis to use in slide decks or other tools
Privacy and Data Safety
Your data is treated carefully in this integration:
No respondent-level data or PII is ever passed to ChatGPT
Only cross-tabulated, aggregate survey data is sent
All processing happens through a secure, read-only API layer
That said, you should always check OpenAI’s terms and policies on how your data may be handled, especially with respect to retention and training. If you’re handling sensitive categories, double-check with your legal team.
How to Get Started
Open the MX8 Labs GPT in ChatGPT (you’ll need ChatGPT Plus)
Ask something like:
“Show me brand recognition by age for Survey 102”
or
“Summarise the latest cross-tab for the Q2 campaign tracker”
Login with your MX8 Labs credentials when requested.
The GPT will call the API, fetch your crosstab, and reply with results, summaries, or charts
Questions?
If you’re not sure how to use the GPT, or want to request access, just use the Intercom chat in the bottom-left of the MX8 platform.
